What to Expect from a Session:

Yoga Nidra Sound Journeys start with a discussion of your needs and your intentions for our time together. You will educated on the three savasana positions you can lay in to receive this practice.

We will begin with Purva Kriya (pre-practices); the first will be a Shat Kriya - a purification technique to stir up toxins in the body. Then we will do a few gentle movements to lubricate the joints. Once the body begins to loosen up we will hold a few yoga postures to prepare the body for stillness. We will arrive in a seated position to drop into pranayama (breath-work) and a series of 11 mudras to allow the prana (life force) to seep into the body. Then, we will access the bandhas (energy lifts in the body) and follow with repeating a chant to ourselves in the mind.

Now we are ready to lay down and set an intention. Be guided into a state of deep relaxation as we move through the koshas. Through this process allow the sounds and vibrations of frosted quartz crystal singing bowls tuned to the chakras, a handheld clear crystal singing bowl, the chao gong, and koshi chimes to wash over you.

In this meditation we are able to relax and soothe the physical body, bring harmony to the energy system by activating awareness in each of the seven chakras, calm and clear tensions from the mental and emotional body, bring about clarity and an unbiased perspective on life, and elevate your connection with bliss. The result is a feeling of lightness and overall relaxation.

We exit this experience with Paschata Kriya (post-practies). First I will use sound and verbal cues to subtly pull you out of the realm of consciousness between the waking and sleeping state state. Curled up on your side I will prompt you to recall the practice and reflect on what you experienced. I will invite you to journal your reflection. After I open space for you to share with me I will send you back into the world feeling lighter and brighter.

Yoga Nidra is a guided relaxation practice that draws fourth a state of inner Self, allowing us to feel the fullness of emptiness so as to free ourselves from earthly attachments. This practice allows us to shift our perspective to see from a place of love and compassion.

In Yoga Nidra we start with pre-practices, then we move through the five koshas (the layers of the human experience), and we end with a few post practices. This ancient practice is traditionally three hours long. To accommodate a 60 min., 75 min. and 90 min. timeframe I honor each step in an abbreviated format.

I like to describe the five Koshas as Russian stacking dolls. Once in the guided meditation portion, we move inward, releasing into each of these layers;  Annamaya Kosha (the physical body), Pranamaya Kosha (the energy body), Manomaya Kosha (the mental/emotional body), Vijnanamaya Kosha (the wisdom body), and Anandamaya Kosha (the bliss body). Once we reach the bliss body we are in the "Russian stacking doll" that holds the nothingness that is everything; the Atman (the soul). Yoga Nidra is the key to a deeper connection with our true nature.

The Energy Exchange

My goal is to make self care services more attainable for people by offering them on a Sliding Scale.

I ask people to ponder 2 questions when considering what amount on the pricing scale best serves them:

1. What can you truly afford?

2. How much value does this session hold for you?

The Lowest Amount on on the scale is the lowest rate I can offer for my service while staying true to my value.

The Highest Amount on the scale is for those wishing to give extra support with the intention of helping my private practice thrive.

Any Amount you select on the sliding scale is appreciated and appropriate. Thank you!
